Snakes and ladders seating area
This sculptural seating area was commissioned by Highgate Pre-Preparatory School to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. It is based upon the children's game snakes and ladders. Before its construction, artist Sam Boffey held workshops with the School's children exploring design and texture and later carved the snake's head in the playground. The piece was co-designed by Earthworks and installed by them with Sam. Earthworks now maintain the Pre-Preparatory and Junior School playgrounds.
The seating area is used by the children during playtime and also for outdoor lessons and performances.
